Direct Debits

Welcome Energy offer Credit Billing customers two types of Direct Debit which are quick and easy to setup online. 

For regular payments to your account with Welcome Energy, we can offer the option for a Fixed amount Direct Debit, or a Variable amount Direct Debit. This method of payment will allow us to debit the agreed payments from your bank account on the requested dates. You can request the Direct Debit to be set on one of four dates of the month the 1st, 8th, 15th or 21st.

Fixed Direct Debit

A Direct Debit instruction which collects a fixed amount each month.

This amount should be set at a projection of the usage charges for your property. A monthly charge would represent approximately one-third of your bill if billed quarterly.

Your monthly amount is reviewed regularly to check that your actual usage charges are in line with the projected monthly instalment. If your usage charges are projecting to be higher than the current instruction, we will amend the monthly instalment to a higher amount and provide you with written confirmation of the change before the new amount is debited. The notice will confirm when the new payments will start from. If your usage charges are projecting to be lower than the current instruction, we will amend the monthly instalment to a lower amount and provide written confirmation of the change.

It is also advised that if you have an amount owing this can be settled with a higher first payment using the “First amount” box. This was you are always ahead of the next bill.

Upon activation, an email will be sent to you to confirm the new instruction, the date of the first payment and the amount to be debited each month.

Variable Direct Debit

A Direct Debit instruction which will take the full balance as shown on your bill in the month after it was issued.

If we issue bills to you on a monthly rota, we will debit the payment also on a monthly rota. If we issue billing to you on a quarterly basis, then we will debit payments every third month on the next date you have selected.

The amount will vary each time we debit a payment, but the day of the month when the payment is attempted will stay the same.

Upon activation, an email will be sent to you to confirm the new instruction and the date you have selected. The amount will be determined upon the next bill that is issued to you.
Please note you must enter your correct Welcome Energy Account Number.
If you wish to change the amount or date of your direct debit, please contact us
at least 3 working days before. If you contact us within 3 days of the call date,
we will be unable to amend the instruction until after the next payment has beenprocessed.
